Tony Hough – Founder & Technical Director

Tony Hough is a recognised authority in the field of specialist contact lens design and measurement. With decades of experience, he has contributed significantly to international standardisation in contact lens testing and specification. He serves as the UK Principal Expert at ISO technical meetings for contact lenses and test methods.

He is the author of ISO 18369-3 Section 4.3 and Annex B, which define procedures for the power measurement of contact lenses. In 2024, he was appointed project leader of the ISO working group developing terminology for modern scleral lenses and also leads the group investigating wavefront-based methods for determining soft lens dimensions.

Tony is an active peer reviewer for the journal Contact Lens and Anterior Eye (CLAE). He has served on the Council of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), holding posts including Technical Section Chair, Honorary Meetings Secretary, and President (2001–2002).

Chris Cain, PhD

Head of Computational Design

Dr. Chris Cain is a mathematician and software architect specialising in computational design and manufacturing systems for complex contact lenses. He began working in the contact lens field during his doctoral studies in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.

Chris is the developer behind the secure, license-controlled manufacturing system used by Lens Analytics and has authored the algorithms that simulate lens fitting on topographic data from all major videokeratoscopes. His mathematical models support high-precision rigid lens design, enabling accurate translation of corneal data into manufacturable geometries.

With extensive experience of machine files related to contact lens lathes, Chris bridges the gap between theoretical design and practical production, offering a rare combination of mathematical rigour and real-world manufacturing insight.
